See It In Action:
- Sort by Biggest Savings to see sale items first
- Sort by Best Sellers to see what other shoppers are buying
- Sort by Most Viewed to see what other shoppers are looking at
Improved Sorting for NRO lets your shoppers sort the way they want. Letting your shoppers browse the way they want can help improve your overall sales.
With Improved Sorting for NRO, you can add more ways for shoppers to sort the products that display on the category thumbnail pages. Additional sorting options include:
- Best Sellers
- Most Viewed
- New (can use either a specific product attribute or the date the product was added to the site)
- Biggest Saving
- Top Rated
- Reviews Count
- Now in Wishlists
How It Works
Out of the box, you can change the default sort order under System / Configuration / Catalog / Catalog / Frontend > 'Product Listing Sort by'. You can choose from Best Value (i.e., manual sort order), Name, Price, or Brand. Plus, depending on each attribute’s settings, you can choose to include specific attributes in the sorting choices. So, for example, under Catalog / Attributes / Manage Attributes, you could set 'sku' to ‘Used for Sorting in Product Listing’ = Yes, which also adds it to the list of sorting choices (and thus can also be selected as the default sort order). Learn more about sorting options in our blog.
When you add Improved Sorting for NRO, you get additional choices for specifying the default sort order: Best Sellers, Most Viewed, New, Biggest Saving, Top Rated, Reviews Count, Now in Wishlists, and Quantity.
You can also choose which attributes you want to sort in decending order by default (out of the box, sorts will always be in ascending order).
