Statistics can't be wrong. The majority of people choose and buy similar products. It's more effective and easier to gather data and use it accordingly than to manually assign related products to each item you sell.
Sell more to each customer
Attracting new customers is great. However it’s even better and cheaper to increase your profits by selling more to the customers you’ve already attracted. You can increase average order amount by showing products that are relevant to the shopper's interests.

The extension automatically matches items, so you don't need to manually setup related (or up-sell) items for each product.

Only display items from the same category
You can optionally choose to only display products from the same category as the one being displayed.
Hide out of stock items
You can choose whether to display out-of-stock items in the blocks or not.
Items already in cart are not displayed
A product will not be displayed in the block to a shopper if the shopper already has that item in their cart. This way shoppers always view items they haven't added to the cart yet and might be interested in buying.
Specify the number of products in the blocks
You can indicate maximum number of products per row.
Ability to correct your product sets
Customers know better what they want, so store owners have to give them the right to choose from relevant products. You can choose whether or not to replace the products which you've added manually.
Priceless extension for new stores
When you've just started your online store, there are next to no stats to help you crosslink the products properly. Customers Also Viewed for NRO associates the products for you.
For better accuracy, the items are displayed in the block based on the number of times they were viewed together with the displayed product, which minimizes the chances of unrelated items getting to the blocks.
Because Up-Sells and Related Items both appear on the item detail pages (the first displays within the tabbed content area, and the latter displays below the tabs), you will likely only use one or the other for Customers Also Viewed, but not both. Cross-Sells only display on the shopping cart pages.

How do you rate this product?
What I like most about this extension is how easy it is to use. You simply choose where you want to display it, and the extension does everything else for you. It tracks what items are being viewed together, automatically populates the thumbnail panel, and it continues to dynamically generate new products as they gain views. I highly recommend this extension for it's ease of use and effective cross-selling. (Posted on 3/11/2014)
